The chalet is set in a quiet area with superb views and very well situated in the village of Montriond. There is also a shuttle service stopping in front of the chalet which takes you to Morzine-Avoriaz and Les Gets. Using Montriond as a starting point you can access Switzerland and Chatel or the nearby ski resort of Morzine as well as the rest of the vast Portes du Soleil area.

As part of the Vallee d'Aulps, Montriond is one of three resorts and is full of charm and character and is often preferred to the hustle and bustle of its bigger neighbours, yet providing guests with the same lifts and skiing opportunities. This is very much an all-season resort where you will enjoy the beauty of the nearby lake, the charming village with its traditional Savoyard chalets and numerous shops. It is only a mile from Morzine ski resort.

 Winter sports in Montriond

Modern ski resort with its equipments and facilities, and traditional village, Montriond takes advantage of the proximity of its big sisters to develop an independent touristic centre which led it in the 12 ski-resorts of the Portes du Soleil.

With its 650 kilometres of pistes and its 212 ski-lifts, the Portes du Soleil ski area, accessible from Montriond / Les Lindarets, offers you a large range of winter sports, on 2 countries with only one ski-pass. From the easy green pistes to the formidables black slopes, like the famous "Swiss wall", everybody is satisfied. If you want, you can also discover this fabulous ski area managed by the instructors of the Ski School.

Snowboarding :

Aware of the growing number of snowboarders who go down the pistes, the Portes du Soleil ski resorts offer them a lot of activities.

Snow parks, moguls stadium, half-pipe, slalom piste or accessories like hands, rails, pyramids, fun boxes, cliffs... Everything to have a wild in safety!!!

Cross-country skiing

In Montriond, cross-country skiing is free! 7 miles of drawned and marked out trails, normal trails and skating.  A 5 mile circuit around the lake to the hamlet of Les Albertans alternates crossings of forest and the lake shore.

Snowshoes trekking :

Off the beaten tracks, with snowshoes go naturally and meet virgin areas and beautiful landscapes and with patience you'll maybe have the luck to surprise some shy animals of our mountains...

A week of walks on snowshoes to discover a nature burried under its white blanket. Without danger and without difficult techniques, we suggest you outings, accessible to everybody. Across forests and virgin areas, you can do day or half-day outings, enjoy meals in mountain refuges or grilled meat in the snow, experiment a night outing with torches followed by a cheese fondue...

Under ice diving

Dive into a silent world: as soon as the ice forms over lake Montriond, it's possible to go on a first dive under the ice, to watch the bubbles dance in their attempts to escape from their ice-prison.
Dry-suits protect you from the cold: the water temperature varies for 2 to 3°C. Dive to a depth of 8 to 10 metres.
